This watch is very nice. The picture makes the watch look.....ugly. However it is a very attractive watch in person. This watch is day-date which made me buy this over a traditional looking speedmaster.

I love this watch, April 26, 2010

I didn't buy this watch through Amazon because you can actually find it cheaper by simply calling an authorized Omega dealer and suggesting what you think is a fair price. Overall, I give this watch 5 stars. Sometimes I simply stare at it and think "wow, this watch is beautiful." The movement is smooth and the self-winding mechanism actually has quite a bit of inertia behind it. There will be times that you'll move your arm suddently, and your wrist will gyrate for 15 seconds. At first I thought the watch was a bit heavy, but now I don't give it a second thought. I also use the stopwatch much more frequently than I thought I would. Although I love the watch, there are a few minor complaints (none of which bring my rating down):
1) it's not always so easy to read the numerical date. Part of me wishes the watch had a date window instead of a hand that points to the date on the outer edge of the watch. That said, having the day of the week listed was a must for me, and Omega doesn't have a watch that features the day of the week AND a date window. I am getting used to it though!
2) the latch on the band scratches fairly easily (which is probably the case for most metal-banded watches). That said, I don't mind if the band is scratched, as I'm mostly concerned with the crystal. After 6 months of wear, I'm happy to report there's not a single scratch on the sapphire (knock on wood). I'm actually planning on switching the band to black leather to switch things up.

I have just purchased this Omega watch and I am completely satisfied. This watch has everything that I was looking for, quality, workmanship, style at an exceptional price for the value. I had an extensive watch collection and had my home robbed, and they took everything I had. This is a start to my new collection, and having purchased the watch now, I find myself only wanting to wear this watch for all occasions. It works for work, going out for the evening or even a more formal affair. Hey George Clooney can't be wrong! Buy it, you will be more than satisfied.

I am rather opinionated when it comes to luxury watches. This comes from spending 2 years in watchmaking school, studying directly under the guidance of a certified master swiss watchmaker who came here from Europe. Watches, especially mid to high grade swiss watches, are a passion of mine. I am not loyal to a brand or a style or anything else. I judge them for what they are, in terms of quality, function, construction, and style. A watchmakers point of view.

This said I will tell you that this particular watch is what I consider to be a "best kept secret" sort of watch. This is an AUTOMATIC watch (read: Mechanical - NOT Quartz), and of CHRONOMETER grade function. Chronometer as used here is a measure of accurate timekeeping, not quality - a point often misunderstood - and is used mostly from a marketing point of view by companies such as Rolex. HOWEVER. This movement in THIS watch is actually EXCELLENT in terms of quality, time keeping ability, and construction - easily comparable to other Swiss made movements from other famous manufacturers costing several times as much. This watch, properly serviced, will provide a lifetime of use - and probably more. Absolutely the sort of watch you pass down to the next generation.

All in all - and EXCELLENT choice - especially for those seeking their first QUALITY Swiss watch purchase.

Definitely recommended!

This is my fourth Swiss timepiece and it has to be said, my favourite. I have also owned an Ikepod, Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow and a Tag F1, the latter of which I still own as it is just such a fun watch.

I basically swapped my Broad Arrow (BA) for the Planet Ocean XL (PO XL) and I'm glad I did (the XL is the one to go for not the baby brother version). The BA is a fantastic watch but I started to find it just a little too dressy for my taste. The PO XL on the other hand is a fantastic, great looking, chunky sports watch which grabs peoples attention without being too flash. It can be worn as an everyday watch but it still has the class and will look great on that special occasion. The PO is beautifully made and a pleasure to wear. I looked at the Tags (Aquaracer and Link) Breitling (colt) and some others in the price range and they just didn't come close to this one in my opinion. I have had it 6 months now and timekeeping is spot on as you would expect. I tend to get bored with my watches and sell them on and replace them after a few years. But I can honestly say that I might just settle down with my Planet Ocean.

This blanket is a high-quality product. It is a great size and also comes in very attractive patterns. I have a similar blanket that does not come near the quality of this product. It may seem pricey, but it is worth the money.

I'm a hard to impress...I demand a lot of anything I purchase and am rarely thrilled with a product, but I LOVE my Zip-N-Go blanket.

It's a beautifully made product. The blanket is big enough to be very useful. It's not a postage stamp masquerading as a blanket. The waterproof nylon is the best quality and the anti pill fleece is perfect. The blanket is easy to zip and stow and even has a pocket on the side in which you might place keys or a water bottle.

If you are an active family or couple, I highly recommend the Zip-N-Go. Perfect for the sidelines at any hockey or soccer game, the park concert, the beach, camping or even yoga.

I plan on giving it as a family gift because it is something the whole family can enjoy again and again. I can't say enough things about this blanket. Zip-N-Go got the design just right. Purchase with confidence. You WON'T be disappointed.

I love this watch design! The windows on the front and back highlight the movement excellently, and the strap is made from high quality leather. The craftsmanship is really phenomenal, and the aesthetic of it is fantastic.

The trade-off that you make to get it into this price bracket is that the watch itself is pretty thick, and the crystal isn't like you get on other high-end watches, it's something that Sturhling has manufactured. They say it's better and more durable and all that, but for those who look at watches as a prestige item, that might factor in.

If you're the kind of person that can look at a watch and assess it for the piece of beauty that it is, without worrying about having a Rolex or Omega logo, this is definitely a watch you want to have in your collection!

Before considering anything else about this watch, you have to realize it is big. B-I-G. As in HOOOGE!

Yes, the dimensions of the watch are listed above. What do they really mean? How about this: the face is the size of a silver dollar and the case is as thick as a 9-volt battery. Don't believe me? Take a look at the three pictures I posted in the Customer Image area at the top of this page. You'll see what I'm talkin' about.

Why does this matter? Well, it is something that comes down to personal taste of course. But I feel the sheer size of this watch makes it difficult to wear with a cuffed shirt. It also creates a significant bulge under any garment with long sleeves that is not generously cut. For me, these two things limit the watch to casual use only. Tailored clothing, in my opinion, will not look good with this watch.

If you do like big watches, Stührling has put together a nice package. The face is easy to read and is attractively designed. The movement (note that it most likely is not Swiss-made) is visible from both front and back. Best of all, this watch does not require batteries and winds itself as one wears it. As long as the watch gets a few hours of normal wear each day, it probably won't ever need to be manually wound.

Gift-givers will appreciate the lavish packaging for a watch at this pricepoint. An orange presentation box comes protected by a glossy black outer sleeve. The box itself contains the watch with a black wristband, a second brown wristband, a polishing cloth, and extensive documentation.

Bottom line: while I think the large overall size of this watch reduces where and how it can be worn, the watch is nicely designed and comes in a package that is very suitable for gift-giving. 3.5 stars (rounded down to 3 because I personally prefer a slimmer watch but anybody who digs eye-catching watches can round up to 4-stars).
